Commitment to the Environment and the Community
Bostrom’s B&B is striving to reduce environmental impact by searching out products that represent responsibility and sustainable practices and by working toward better practices at home. We hope you’ll appreciate our quest for luxury combined with ecologically minded products and community minded practices.
Some of out environmental practices include:
- A two day minimum for all guests to reduce environmental impact. This is particularly important at Bostrom's B&B since we wash all our duvet covers between guests. Though this is not a common practice in the accomodation industry, we need to meet our commitment to cleanliness.
- Recycling boxes in every kitchenette,
- Water bottles and purified water available to counter act plastic water bottles
- Guest products chosen with the environment in mind.
Made from 100 percent recyclable polyester, Comphy sheets are designed to look and feel like 600-thread count cotton, and are guaranteed to last through a minimum of 300 wash and dry cycles. This superior durability represents a substantially longer life cycle than traditional cotton sheets of the same quality. In addition, Comphy is the only hotel sheet developed by a company that is a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council.

We are continually looking for products that have a low environmental impact. This year we are doing a trial with Baleco Ecosolutions and Shaklee cleaning products. We stive to use products that have low impact on the environment while still maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. As we have not yet found a product that matches our needs, we value all suggestions in continuing to improve in this area.
