ituated on km. 3.5 of the Wild Pacific Trail, guests can walk in either direction to meet up with the magnificent coastal trail that wanders through the succulent rain forest past beaches, the bell buoy, the whistle buoy, and the lighthouse. Walking with the rain forest on one side and the spectacular Pacific Ocean on the other, you'll get a glimpse of the abundant wildlife of the area and the many island that dot the horizon. "Forest Bathing" is a phrase that comes close to describing the experience offered on the Wild Pacific Trail

The variety and abundance of marine life makes Ucluelet a first class destination for scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing, whale watching and various other eco-tours. Other water activities include surfing, ocean kayaking, surf kayaking and wakeboarding. The pristine wilderness rain forest provides a backdrop for magnificent hikes through the forest, golfing, and back road adventures. You can't visit without spending time on one of the many sandy beaches. There are many sandy beaches that are a short walk from the B&B while the long stretch of sandy beach in the Pacific Rim National Park is only a 10 minute drive.

The largest beach, Long Beach, is divided into various other beaches like Wickininish Beach and Florencia Bay, by the terrain, the history, or the access roads in from the Park. Beach comb, build sandcastles, fly kites, play Frisbee, or simply stare out into the ocean, breathing fresh air charges with oxygen from the surf and trees that surround you. A delight to the senses, you can see, taste, hear, and feel the power of the surf charging towards the beach.

The shops, restaurants, and beaches of Ucluelet are all within walking distance of your room. The Pacific Rim National Park, Long Beach, is a 10 minute drive from Ucluelet to the west. Barkley sound and The Pacific Rim National Park, Broken Island Group, is a boat ride to the East. Driving past Long Beach is Tofino. Tofino is a worthwhile destination as it is only 30 minutes by car and it is the name most visitors associate with the area. The Ucluelet locals are convinced this is because the folks on the evening news cannot pronounce Ucluelet. In case you find yourself on the evening news, it is pronounced as it is spelled "u-clue-let" (You-Kloo-Let) though many locals refer to it simply as Ukee and it's neighbour to the west as "Tuff city" where the Tofitians live.

The winters bring magnificent storms and what better place to watch them from than the delicious warmth of the hot tub, the spacious inside accommodations of Bostrom's B&B, or feel the thrill of the surge and the spray on your face from the secure vantage of the waterfront deck. No matter what the season Bostrom's Bed and Breakfast is your retreat into an outdoor adventure, a romantic get away, or a place to relax and rejuvenate.

Your hosts are Gary and Judy Bostrom. Gary has always lived on the West Coast with his roots in the small fishing community of Kyuquot. Once a commercial fisher, Gary now spends his time scuba diving, sports fishing, and building facilities from which to enjoy and share his home with others. During the summer months, Gary has a "job" ferrying kayaks out to the Broken Island Group. After whale watching and dropping off his new friends he dives or goes fishing before picking the folk up at the end of the day. This, he swears is "work". Judy, having grown up in the semi-arid climate of Cranbrook, has lived on the West Coast for 30 years. Inviting quests into her home has given her fresh insight into the area as its magic is continually recreated through the eyes and experiences of visitors. We look forward to your visits and hope to see you come up over the horizon really soon.
